If I gave you the choice between Red and Blue, what would
you choose?
Red you say? Blue? Why not green?
Most of us go through school and college with the only
choice given us is "which company to work for?"
We need to be given the choice to be self employed. That
only happens if you prepare your students now.
In 1776, over 70% of the population were self employed.
Today, less than 30% are self employed. If no one gives
your students the choice, they may not even consider being
self employed as an option. That is sad when you realize
that this country was founded on self reliance. If your
students are not lucky enough to have parents that are self
employed, their chances of being self employed are greatly
diminished. That is why the Kid's Playing Business
Club is so important. This kid's business club
will help you give those students a chance to get the vocabulary
of being self employed in their minds and give them a choice
to be. If your student's parents are already are self employed,
this will add to the odds that those students will be also.
 Years
ago, it was thought that all you would have to do is work
hard for the same employer and they will take care of you
until you died. There is no longer any guarantee that the
employer you work for will be in business never mind keep
you around. That is why being self employed is so important.
Now is the time, when your students are young, to start
preparing their minds with options.

Why is it so important to teach kids while
they are young about the importance of being in business?
Do kids really understand what you are talking about?
You better believe they understand!
To give you an illustration of why it is
important, let me tell you about a study done at Harvard
University a few years ago. A group of kittens was placed
in a room with no furniture or windows. The only distinction
was that of wall paper with vertical stripes. In another
room a group of kittens was placed with the only distinction
being wall paper with horizontal stripes.
After a few months of growing up in this
enviroment, the cats from the room with the horizontal stripes
were placed in a room full of furniture. Those cats could
not see the vertical objects in the room. They kept bumping
their heads on table legs. The opposite was true of the
cats from the vertical striped room. They could see the
table legs, but did not see the horizontal surfaces.
We as humans view life in the same manner.
Whatever our early experiences are seem to paint the way
we see the world for the rest of our lives. That is why
it is so hard to change or even see another person's point
of view.
It is very important that you place your
children in a position that will paint the picture of self
reliance through being self employed while the child is
young. It is really that simple.
